Work the Ground

Boaz Land Management is a Kalispell-based earthwork and land management company. We're building a crew for work across the Flathead Valley — and we'd rather tell you what the job actually is than sell you on it.

The work, honestly

What the work actually is

Running machines on ground that is rarely flat and never the same twice. Clearing timber and brush, cutting pads and driveways, taking structures down, moving material, and putting sites back together. Days are outdoors, physical, and weather-exposed.

The season runs hard

From the time the ground firms after breakup until it freezes, the work is steady and the daylight is long. Summer is the busiest stretch of the year, and fire-season conditions shape how debris gets handled.

Winter is different, not empty

Frozen ground is genuinely good for clearing and demolition, and it protects soft parcels. But precision earthwork waits for spring, and snow closes access in the valley's higher corners. Anyone considering this work should understand the seasonal rhythm honestly.

What you'd be running

We self-perform 6 service lines rather than specializing narrowly, which means operators here run varied work instead of doing one thing all season.

  • Land ClearingSkid steer · Forestry mulcher attachment · Excavator
  • ExcavationExcavator · Skid steer · Trenching & grading attachments
  • Mowing & Brush CuttingCompact tractor · Skid steer · Rotary & flail brush mowers
  • DemolitionExcavator · Demolition attachments · Dump trailers & haul trucks
  • Junk RemovalSkid steer · Grapple attachment · Dump trailers & haul trucks
  • Cleanup & LandscapingSkid steer · Compact tractor · Grapple attachment

What we look for

  • Equipment time — excavator, skid steer, or tractor seat hours matter more than a résumé
  • Judgment about ground: reading slope, soft spots, and where water is going to go
  • Care around what has to survive — trees, utilities, septic components, and the property owner's expectations
  • Willingness to work the season while it's open, and to work in weather
  • A valid driver's license; CDL and any equipment certifications are a plus, not a requirement

Submitting interest

We are not posting specific openings at this time. We do keep names of operators and laborers in the Flathead Valley who want to be called when crew needs come up — which in this line of work is usually with the season rather than on a schedule.

Call and tell us what you've run and where you've run it. That conversation is worth more than a form.
